Create and print a word search

Use Word Search Studio to make a word search for practice or a printable activity. You can play in your browser without creating an account.

1. Choose your words

Under Word collection, choose English, Indonesian, or My words. For your own list, enter words separated by commas or new lines, or select Import .txt or .csv. You can supply more than 20 entries, but each puzzle uses at most 20 eligible words.

Open Review word list to check which entries are ready. Duplicate, invalid, or oversized entries are flagged. Spaces and some punctuation may be removed for the letter grid. Make the grid larger if a word does not fit.

The EN · English / ID · Indonesia selector at the top changes the interface language, not the chosen word collection.

2. Set the grid and difficulty

Choose Grid size from 5×5 to 30×30 and set Words to find from 1 to 20. Then choose a difficulty:

• Easy: words go across or down.
• Normal: adds forward diagonals.
• Hard: words can run in all eight directions.

Open Title and print options if you want to change the Puzzle title, Paper (A4 or Letter), or Orientation (Portrait or Landscape).

3. Generate and play

Select Generate puzzle. Use New puzzle to make another selection. If some words cannot be placed, increase the grid size, reduce the word count, or try again.

Find words by dragging along their letters or tapping the first and last letters. You can also move with the arrow keys and select endpoints with Enter or Space. Use Grid zoom to adjust letter size.

Select Reveal answers to highlight the solutions, Hide answers to conceal them again, or Restart to clear your progress on the same puzzle. Revealing solutions marks that session as assisted.

4. Print the puzzle and answer key

Under Title and print options, check Include a separate answer key if you want the solutions printed on an additional sheet. Select Print puzzle, then confirm the paper size, orientation, and page preview in your browser's print dialog. The puzzle and answer key come from the same generated grid.

To save a PDF instead of using paper, choose your browser's PDF print destination if available.

5. Save on this device (optional)

Check Save on this device to retain your custom words, settings, and current puzzle in this browser. Without it, your puzzle stays in memory for the current session. Uncheck the option or use Clear saved data to remove saved puzzle content. Browser storage may still be cleared or unavailable.

Your word lists are processed locally; you do not need to upload them.
