Use Word Association to create matching exercises where learners draw lines between related words in two columns. Choose a built-in topic or supply your own pairs.

1. Choose words and a category

Set Word language to English or Bahasa Indonesia. This is separate from the interface language selector at the top.

Under Word source, select Built-in categories and choose a Category such as opposite words. You can also select Use these pairs as custom to edit a copy of the selected category.

To start from your own list, choose My own category, enter Your category name, and add pairs in the Left:Right format. Separate pairs with commas or new lines, for example Black:White, Tall:Short. Import .txt / .csv accepts the same format; the file limit is 2 MB.

Open Review pairs to inspect accepted, duplicate and rejected entries. Each pair needs two items separated by exactly one colon. Keep each item within 48 characters and avoid reusing the same left or right item for different matches.

2. Configure the worksheet

Set Pairs to match between 2 and 20, without exceeding the available accepted pairs. Add a Worksheet title if you like.

Open Paper & answer key to choose A4 or Letter, Portrait or Landscape, and optionally Include a separate answer key.

3. Generate and mix

Select Generate worksheet. The preview displays unmatched left and right columns with dots for drawing connections. Each page contains its own complete matching set, up to 10 pairs per page.

Select Mix the right column to reshuffle the choices without changing the selected pairs. If you change the category, pairs, or title, select Generate worksheet again to apply those changes.

4. Print or save as PDF

Select Print / Save PDF and review the browser print preview. Match your selected paper and orientation, print at 100% scale, and disable browser headers and footers.

If you enabled the answer key, separate pages show the intended connections and matching codes. Select your browser's PDF destination if you want a digital copy.

5. Save locally (optional)

Save on this device is off by default. Turn it on to retain your settings, custom pairs, and worksheet in your browser. Clear saved data removes the saved copy but keeps your current worksheet open; Reset clears the current worksheet and settings.

Your custom pairs are processed locally without an account or content upload. Unsaved work may disappear when the page reloads.
