Use Scrambled Letter to make an activity where learners rearrange mixed-up letters into words. You can create and print worksheets in your browser without an account.

1. Choose a word source

Under Word language, choose English or Bahasa Indonesia. Then choose Built-in words or My own words under Word source. The language selector in the header changes the interface language separately.

For built-in words, set Min. letters and Max. letters from 3 to 16. For your own words, paste a comma-separated or line-separated list, or select Import .txt / .csv. CSV imports use CSV: one word per row; you can also turn that option off.

Open Word review to see accepted, duplicate, and rejected entries. Custom words must contain only A–Z letters, be 3–16 letters long, and have at least two different letters. Use one word per entry; spaces, punctuation, and repeated entries are not accepted.

2. Set the worksheet

Choose Questions from 5 to 20. If your custom list has fewer than five eligible words, you can instead make a worksheet with 1–4 questions. The selected number cannot exceed the available eligible words.

Add a Worksheet title if you like. Open Paper & extras to choose A4 or US Letter, Portrait or Landscape, and either of these optional aids:

  • Word bank on worksheet: shows the answer words in alphabetical order as hints.
  • Separate answer key: adds matching answer pages.

3. Generate and preview

Select Generate worksheet. Your printable pages appear in the preview, with up to 10 questions on each worksheet page. Each question shows mixed-up letters and a blank answer line.

Select Reshuffle letters to change the letter arrangements while keeping the same answers and question order. Some words have only a few possible arrangements, so an occasional scramble may remain unchanged.

Changes to the word source, question count, or title take effect when you generate a new worksheet. The paper, orientation, and optional hint/key display can be adjusted in the current preview.

4. Print or save as PDF

Select Print / Save PDF, then check the browser print preview. Match the app's paper size and orientation, use 100% scale, and turn off browser headers and footers. If selected, the answer key prints on separate pages corresponding to the worksheet.

To save a PDF, choose your browser's PDF print destination if available.

5. Save on this device (optional)

Save on this device is off by default. Turn it on to store your settings, custom words, and current worksheet in this browser for later restoration. Turning it off or selecting Clear saved data removes saved content but leaves the current worksheet open. Reset clears the current worksheet and saved settings.

If saving is unavailable or browser storage is cleared, unsaved work may be lost when you reload. Words and worksheets are processed locally; no account or word-list upload is required.
