AyahChain
Privacy Policy.

How AyahChain handles information on Android and Windows.

Effective date: October 9, 2026
Developer: AZ ModestSoft, an independent software developer
Contact: az.modestsoft@gmail.com

Privacy summary: AyahChain's learning features work offline. The app does not require an account, display ads, or use an analytics service. Settings and Challenge best scores are saved on your device. AyahChain does not send your practice or quiz activity to AZ ModestSoft. On Android, system backup may copy locally saved settings and scores to your Google account, depending on your device settings. External websites open only when you select a link.

1. Scope

This policy applies to AyahChain for Android (com.azmodestsoft.ayahchain) and Windows, published by AZ ModestSoft. AyahChain helps users practise recalling the next Quran verse using bundled text, recitation audio, and scenery. This page describes the app's data practices; the AZ ModestSoft website's analytics are described in section 6.

Audio attribution: The bundled recitation is Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi's Hafs Murattal for surahs 67–114 (Juz 29 and 30). Recordings and per-ayah timing data are provided by MP3Quran.net. AyahChain uses the original surah MP3 recordings without audio edits and seeks between verses using MP3Quran's timing data. See MP3Quran's reuse statement.

2. Information kept on your device

AyahChain saves app preferences such as language, theme, selected juz and surahs, text and audio display choices, scenery choice, font size, and practice and quiz timing. It also saves each surah's best Challenge result, including its score, star rating, and the date and time achieved. This information is used to remember your choices and show your progress.

Practice and quiz questions, answers, and timers are handled on the device. AyahChain does not ask you to create an account or enter a name or email address. Reciting aloud during Practice does not make an audio recording: the app plays its bundled recitation and waits for you to respond, but does not request microphone access or upload your voice.

The app includes a separate ayah audio review and CSV export tool in development builds. It is not available in the Android and Windows release builds described by this policy.

3. Information collected or shared by the app

AyahChain has no AZ ModestSoft-operated account or cloud service and does not transmit app settings, scores, answers, or recitations to AZ ModestSoft. The release app does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting services. Quran text, recitation audio, and scenery are bundled with the app and do not need to be streamed.

Android's app manifest includes internet and network-state permissions, but AyahChain's learning features do not use them to send personal information. Platform providers may process information for app installation, updates, device backup, and store operations under their own privacy practices.

4. Android backup and device transfer

AyahChain allows Android's standard app-data backup. Depending on your device, Android version, account, and backup settings, Google or the device's transfer service may back up or transfer the app's saved preferences and Challenge best scores. These services are operated by the platform provider; AZ ModestSoft does not receive a copy. You can manage backup in your device's settings. Windows stores the same app information locally through Windows app settings.

6. Analytics on this website

This policy page is part of the AZ ModestSoft website. The website loads Google Analytics 4 only after you select Accept analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics may receive visited pages, approximate location, browser and device information, and a cookie identifier. You can decline and continue reading, or change your choice through Analytics settings in the footer. Declining later stops further website analytics collection; existing Google Analytics cookies may remain until they expire or you clear them. Website analytics is separate from the AyahChain app. See Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Retention and deletion

Saved app settings and Challenge best scores remain on your device until you clear AyahChain's app data or uninstall it. Android backup or device transfer may retain or restore a copy according to your platform backup settings; you may need to delete that copy through the relevant platform service. AZ ModestSoft has no AyahChain account or server-side practice record to delete. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to your message; you may contact us to request deletion of that correspondence.

8. Security

AyahChain relies on Android and Windows app storage protections for locally saved information. You can protect it further by securing your device and reviewing your device's backup settings. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

AyahChain may be used by learners of different ages. It does not ask children to provide a name, email address, account, or voice recording, and does not include advertising or in-app analytics. Parents or guardians can contact us with privacy questions and can manage the app's local data and platform backup through the device settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if AyahChain's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when an updated policy is published.
